Movie Review: Mere Khwabon Mein Jo Aaye

Director: Madhureeta Anand

Cast: Arbaaz Khan, Raima Sen and Randeep Hooda

A production of Ajay Bijli and Sanjeev K. Bijli, ‘Mere Khwabon Mein Jo Aaye’ is directed by Madhureeta Anand, who happens to be the writer of this movie as well. The film stars Arbaaz Khan, Randeep Hooda and Raima Sen in the lead. Laced with a poor story and script, the flick totally disappoints the audiences.

Maya (Raima Sen) resides with her husband Vikram (Arbaaz Khan) in New Delhi. They have a daughter named Priya. She leads a bored life of a housewife. Maya had once aspirations of becoming a singer. But she gave up her singing to take care of her family but is faced with a cheating and complaining husband, who has stopped her from singing. While having a conversation with her neighbour Mrs. Mathur (Suhasini Mulay), who gives her inspirational words and conjures up her fanasty man Jai (Randeep Hooda). Jai is the one who sings, is romantic and injects in her the right courage. And whenever she tails off or is laced with any difficulty, he emerges in a new avatar aiding her and guiding her. He utterly and successfully insipires her so that she can come out of her boring married life and puruse her singing career. He makes her compete and win a recording contract. What follows is what forms the climax of the film.

‘Mere Khwabon Mein Jo Aaye’ is a sensless movie and helps you yawn from the beginning till the end. You start thinking as to why you wasted your money and time on this absurd film, which utterly appears ridiculous. As mentioned earlier, the story and the screenplay (written by Madhureeta Anand) both have been written poorly. They look weird and outlandish having no sense at all. Wonder, what happened to the writer while penning down this ilk of senseless screenplay? You start wondering … why the husband and wife drift a part where there emerged no valid reason since she is a loving better half and a caring mother. You cannot believe on Jai’s entry in different avatars in Maya’s fanatsies. Does the writer think that today’s viewer is foolish and has no knowldege and he/she can be offered any kind of idiotic subject to watch on screen? The writers must point out that the audiences have grwon up and understand what is right or wrong…!

The direction by the debutante Madhureeta Anand is strictly mundane. The music is average and the cinemotography is just about okay.

Arbaaz Khan has no scope to display. Raima Sen is undoubtdely a talented actress but could not show her histronics on this platform. Randeep Hooda looks funny in his different avatars.

On the whole, ‘Mere Khwabon Mein Jo Aaye’ is a waste of time and money. Avoid this horrendous project and spend your time at home or with friends instead.
