C-9 Motion Pictures in association with Indish Creations brings the hottest Bollywood babe Shilpa Shettyʼs ʽThe Desireʼ where she enacts the leading role. The movie is produced by Sharad Hedge and Tracy Shiyun. An Indo-Chinese venture, the flick is directed by R. Sarath and features the likes of Shilpa Shetty, Jaya Prada, Anupam Kher, Sheetal Menon, Nakul Vaid, Sachin Khedekar and Xia Yu. The Golden Globe winner music director, who has also three nominations for Oscar for scoring the music for ʽSlumdog Millionaireʼ, A R Rahman has been roped in to compose the music.

While doing the shooting, Shilpa expressed her desire to learn the Odissi dance for which the makers invited the Odissi Guru Ratikant Mohapatra to teach the techniques to sexy lass. The story of the film is about the desires of an Odissi dancer and a painter who like to be expert in their form of art.


Storyline:

The movie talks about the life of Odissi dancer Goutami, who desires to outshine in the dance form, which she considers pure and sacred like a religious belief. Following this, Goutami comes across an expert of this field (a woman who is untouched by the admirations she gets from her fans and she keeps practicing the dance form without getting diverted). This woman fastens theto teach Goutami the techniques of this dance and tells Goutami to concentrate on this art. Jai Leang (who is another character of this movie), who desires to be a skilled painter. Jai was born to a Chinese father and a Malay Indian mother. He lives in Kuala Lumpur. Impressed with the communist rule prevelant in China, he experiences the political effect in his childhood and as an introvert, he reveals all his emotions and feelings through his art. Both the dancer and the painter bump into each other at the initial of the film. But as they follow their desire, they get separated to come across again in the later reels of the movie.

Cinemotography has been done by Sajjan Kalathil. And the editing is dolled up by Prashant Singh Rathore whereas the dialogues are by Amitabh Varma. The famous designer Neeta Lulla has designed the outfits.
